Love

Right on Amadeus!

Neither a lofty degree of intelligence nor imagination nor both together go to the making of genius. Love, love, love, that is the soul of genius.”

Nice to hear from you Frank.
I came upon that quote when I was sorting a zillion old emails. My take on ‘genius freaks’ leans a little towards the metaphysical / spiritual fringe! (I won’t elaborate)
On the one hand it is incredible to speculate ‘what if’ Mozart had lived longer. On the other hand .. so many high achievers eventually burn out. Who knows.

you wrote: ‘something more going for him than that’ – well maybe it was a triple dose of love! He did repeat it 3 times!

PS – how about that Bubble Bath music? My sister in laws comment was “Mesmerising” I listened to it again and I thought – yes that’s exactly what it is.

Hi Jim-Am exploring the universe this evening, and decided to stop off at your Rest Area. I don’t know if I agree with that quote about Love. I am a big fan of Love, but Mozart, I think, had more going for him than that. There was something in his head that made incredible music come out. My son and I were listening today to the clarinet concerto. What a wonderful piece of music, and Mozart wasn’t even a clarinetist. It’s eerie to think about what he would have come up with if he’d lived as long as Haydn. Hope this finds you well and thinking about your mother.
