Another attempt!
Posted on May 24th, 2008 and filed in Another Attempt!, Faure, Opera/VocalMy Dentist yet again! He already knew about my “thing” with Opera (see Opera apology on the Categories list) – but he still urged me to listen to this piece by Faure. My wife loves it and hopefully my sister in law will know it already and give me a pat on the back for posting it!

Love your blog!
Just wanted to say that Faure’s requiem is indeed inspiring! The fact that other major composers like Mozart, Verdi etc were busy making their requiems sound “doomsday-ish” Faure made his heavenly and sublime.
Try listening to the Sanctus of the requiem. absolutely lovely music.

Thanks Lance. I will listen to Sanctus of the requiem. If it is indeed “heavenly and submime” – who knows? Maybe I’ll put it on!
